Michigan Treasury Online for SUW

Michigan Offers New Online Self-Management
for Sales, Use, and Withholding Taxpayers

Updated on May 15, 2015

On January 12, 2015, the Michigan Department of Treasury unveiled a new e-file and e-payment option for those entities who pay sales, use and withholding taxes to the state. The system is designed to make it easier for taxpayers and tax preparers to view and manage SUW accounts, receive updates and communications, and make timely payments.

Since its inception, and because Treasury is still working out some bugs and issues in the module's registration process, many IAAM members have decided to complete the registration process for their interested clients to insure a smooth transition. Treasury continues to tweak the system to make it as user-friendly as possible. IAAM members are encouraged to communicate comments and suggestions on the new system to us at staff@iaam.net and we will forward them on to the Michigan Department of Treasury for comment and/or reply. Be sure to state "Michigan MTO Comments" on the subject line.

The new online system only applies to tax returns for 2015 and moving forward with all filing dates and filing frequencies remaining the same. Here is a very helpful overview of the new MTO program:
